Budget ’18: Encouraging announcements for farmers and women under BPL.

On Thursday, in the presentation of budget 2018, Arun Jaitley, Finance minister proposed to augment the existing target of the provision of free LPG connection to approximately 8 crore women, who are actually living below the poverty line.

Mr. Jaitley said in his budget speech, “Ujjawala Yojana target is being extended to eight crore women living below the poverty line. It was earlier at five crores. The women will receive a free gas connection.”

It is also mentioned in the budget 2018 that with a corpus of Rs. 2000 crore, an Agri Market Development Fund will be there, with an intention to develop the agriculture market, throughout the country.

The government is quite serious about the development of the rural people and announced that special focus will be given on generating farm and non-farm employment, higher Minimum Support Price (MSP) and low-cost farming; support farmers of the country.
