On Sunday, Dharmendra Pradhan, The Union Petroleum and Natural Gas Minister inaugurated the plant of Coal Bed Methane (CBM) at Gomia in Jharkhand and according to the report; the Karanpura and Bokaro blocks would start the production in the latter half of 2017-18.
Petroleum Minister also said on the occasion that there is an expectation the quantum of natural gas, extracted from four blocks will be around 1.7 million metric standards cubic meters on a daily basis.
It is in the news that Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC) has made the plan to supply Coal Bed Methane, through the specific pipeline, to various industrial units in Jharkhand and West Bengal.
While the company officials are not in a mood to divulge the capacity of CBM reserve in the identified areas but informed that the company is planning for next 25 years. ONGC has already completed the exploration and now waiting for getting the government’s production license.
