Third Unit of NTPC’s Power Plant of Kudgi Super Thermal Power Station inaugurated

With the effect since March 12, 2018, the state-owned National Thermal Power Corporation Ltd. (NTPC) has commissioned its third unit of mega 800 megawatts (MW) Kudgi Super Thermal Power Station.

Adding this amount of power generation facility to the existing capacity, the total power production capacity of the Kudgi Super Thermal Power Station has risen to almost triple i.e. 2400 MW.

It can be noted that with this additional capacity, the collective capacity of NTPC and that of the NTPC group raised to 45300 MW and 52191 in that order, which stands as an independent record.

This feat has been achieved by NTPC with the help of power generations from 20 coal based, 11 Photovoltaic, 7 Gas based unit, 2 Hydroelectric, 1 Wind power unit and 8 joint venture (JV) units of power stations.
